Just wondering, thsoe of you that buy fabrics have you seen any shrek ones anywhere?

I have had an idea for Jessica's birthday pressie but can't find the fabric I need. She loves shrek an puss from the films so I thought I would ask someone to make her a buggy snuggle or blanket for her dolls pram, and an outfit with some coordinating fabric for her doll. She had a baby born dolls from the car boot ages ago and it has not clothes at all so thought we could dress it for her as it's her favourite.

Was also thinking of a couple of nappies for it as well as my gran is looking for something for her as well.

TIA
Cathie

If you're stuck, try using a duvet cover - the character usually have a huge panel on the front and coordinating piece on the back with smaller images.

I found this quilt panel with matching backing fabric on ebay.co.uk -

I have made dolls clothes for baby born and baby annabell in the past - I ended up buying a sewing pattern as I was definitely not paying £15+ for a dolls dress! I'd be happy to help if you need it.

That would be great thanks, I can't sew for toffee. I have looked at that listing before but the big panel would be a waste, what would you do with a huge picture panel it would look awful cut into pieces.

I have looked at the bedding listings and there is s shrek bedroom set, a quilt cover and matching curtains, I could use the cover for her bed, the curtains would be far to big for her window.

the duvet idea is great....perhaps you could get 2 duvets, take off the small printed piece off each and then sew the 2 fronts back together to make her a duvet again....have I just complicated things???? lol

Great idea KL!

BTW Cathie, I also had an idea for using up any large panel you might be left with. Cut out the character and back with plain fabric. Stuff and voila, instant Shrek cuddly pillow! or Donkey, or Puss.
