Well done! Once you make a couple more your cutting and stitching will improve. You'll get used to the bias strip eventually. But in the meantime, you could consider attaching it in four pieces rather than one lnog piece, and mitering the corners where they meet.
OR You could omit the bias altogether, and put the case together like a cushion cover. Place the inside liner on top of the outside with right sides facing, stitch all around with a 1/4 " seam allowance, leaving a small opening to turn the whole thing right side out. Then press and slip stitch opening closed. If it looks unfinished to you, you could use your machine to top stitch all around the outside, about 1/4" in.
I still have trouble cutting out straight - seriously! I waste more fabric trying to get it right. I want a quilters rule for xmas to go with my rotary cutter.
I recently invested in decent pair of tailor shears - you know the really long sharp ones and WOW what a difference that makes. I'm also getting better at sewing straight, shapes such as curves, hearts etc.. It's all down to practice at the end of the day!
Even my bag making has improved enormously. The first couple of totes looked ok but now that I am comparing them to current bags etc.. I'm thinking that perhaps they weren't so great after all. But I'm the worst critic of my own work ever!!!
Congratulations on the needle case! You've done a great job! and should be very proud! xxx

Thank you It does the job very well and I dont think its too bad. Thanks for the tips Bernie. I definitely need to invest in some better scissors - the ones I have are good, and very sharp, but not really long enough. I am enjoying sewing again though, although am trying very hard not to end up with a fabric stash _________________

Good luck with that!!! ROFL
I've now officially got a craft stash (paper crafts, rubberstamping, scrapbooking etc..), wool stash, fabric stash, and much more.
My house is now one big (mess) crafting room!!!
