That looks fabbo FC. And your cables go the same way as mine, which is a relief! If you look at the pattern picture they go the other way

They do?
*goes off to look at the pattern*
Crikey, you're right! I hadn't noticed I just followed the pattern instructions I guess it doesn't really matter though. I did think about cabling one way on one panel and the other way on the other, to make it symmetrical, but then decided I couldn't be arsed _________________

That often happens with photography for some strange reason. I think it's something to do with the printing process.
This KAL is going to be lovely to follow. _________________

Just wondering if anyone is in this?? I started a Chicknits Basic Hoodie but didn't get very far (it's not totally abandoned though!!), I frogged my Ribby Cardi as it came out too small, but I do fancy starting a Twist sometime.
FC have you done any more on your Twist? What do you think of the pattern? It does look lovely knitted up on Rav - with collar and without _________________ Ali xxx |

I'm still in. Well, what I mean by that is that I still have Twist OTN somewhere ... got halfway up the back and put it down to work on some socks and, two months or so later , haven't found the enthusiasm to pick it back up again And I really must, otherwise before I know it it'll be next year and too warm to wear it! Which'd be a shame, especially as for once I paid out for some Quality Yarn for it
So I shall consider this a much-needed kick up the backside, thank you Mistress Pictish!
So, you going to stick with the Basic Hoodie or go for a Twist? LOL, Stick or Twist? _________________

Well I really should finish the Basic Hoodie first shouldn't I but it's top down so have to be in a topdown mood IYKWIM I might dig it out and have a look
I think you should get Twist out again - I was looking at it on Rav and it looks very squishy in the Cascade and a beautiful colour I'm definitely going for a brown one too!! _________________ Ali xxx |

Nah you don't! Show me where it says you have to finish something before starting something else!
Go on, cast on Twist. It's completely different construction - bottom up and in pieces - so perfect for when you don't fancy working on top-down You can definitely have both on the go at the same time
and yeah, OK, I'll dig mine out again when I next have enough time to work out where I've got to on it and to remind myself of the pattern _________________

I'll do both!! Just dug out the Basic Hoodie and have only done about 6 rows BUT it's a lovely colour (camel - in fact the very yarn and shade used in the original pattern) so will carry on with it. Just realised it isn't shaped - I wonder if that's the same with Twist?? It will be nice and snuggly for winter so I need to get a move on
I'll cast on for Twist later I think I'm going to use Jaeger MM Aran in Mole(a sort of milk chocolate brown ) from stash. _________________ Ali xxx |

Go girl! Doing both sounds like a fine plan to me

Is that later today ....? Or just a unspecific "later"? Twist has waist shaping, so it's even more of a different knit to the Basic Hoodie Your yarn sounds lovely! _________________

Could be - if the mood takes me
I might add waist shaping to the Chic Basic when I get there - not sure as it requires thought!! At least I'd scribbled on the pattern where I'd got to
Piccie later!!
