Are you???? Did you tell me about that????? After my performance this evening sewing in sleeves, I could do with one. Do you know if there are any spaces left? (If you could put up with me )
Sorry to hijack Joy

I'll see if there are any more. Jacky is coming...think it came up while you were away. I'll ring on Monday to see if there are any places left. Sorry forgot to mention it. _________________ Kate

The workshop was yesterday. Debbie is a Get Knitted today, I wonder if some of you are there?
It was a wonderful day yesterday. Professional Finishing 1 and 2 are designed to run independently of each other, so one doesn't need to have done 1 to do 2 and vice versa.
We covered short row shoulder shaping, methods of casting on - after YEARS of casting on by the cable method, I can now cast on by thumb and also by the tubular method, which is wonderful for sweaters. This is not to mention the provisional crochet cast on I have learned recently.
We learned fully fashioning methods of decreasing, knitting a neat two-row buttonhole, sewing down a buttonband, setting in a sleeve and swiss darning.
Debbie Abrahams is a wonderfully patient and talented knitter and teacher. I really got a great deal from yesterday.
Oh, and the best bit? Debbie said my knitting was neat! She also admired my FCS and my Cranford Mitts _________________

Glad you had a good time Joy! My LYS is doing workshops with her in September, I was tempted by the design/adjusting knits to fit one and the Professional Finishing one. _________________ Sarah

I am interested in the design/adjusting to fit too, but it's on September 10th, which is round about I knit time isn't it.
I'm not decided about I Knit Day yet though. _________________

Iknit is September 12th I think..and the Friday before that?
The Design Your Own Knits at Yarn in Beeston, which is my closest LYS is on Sunday 27th September from 10am til 4pm.
It costs £48 and includes yarn, patterns, information pack, vegetarian buffet lunch, all refreshments and afternoon tea and cake plus 10% off all purchases on the day!
I am tempted! _________________ Sarah

That sounds wonderful Joy!!!! Very nice buttonholes
I might contact JL up here as it's the only place I can get to do anything like that Bit of a trek to Edinburgh or Glasgow or maybe McAree Bros might do them in Stirling - there's a thought _________________ Ali xxx |

I'm really glad to hear you had a good time Aknita, but just a little jealous too - John Lewis completely messed me about regarding her 1st workshop and I ended up not getting a place so I cancelled my day off work and would you believe they have just phoned me to say there is now a space - I have absolutely no chance now of getting friday off so I have had to say no and am feeling a bit miffed.
I'm not surprised Debbie said your knitting was neat - and it sounds as though it was a very worthwhile day. _________________ Ravelry id : Modelwidow |

Glad to hear you enjoyed your 2nd workshop with Debbie - I've booked up for both of these too - first one is at the end of April.
I'd like to go to iKnit again this year, I think!
