Found these when I was looking for Milo this morning!!
I used to do a lot of cross stitch and tapestry but haven't in the last 3 years since I started doing a lot of knitting . These are all from a series I got from The National Trust For Scotland and are based on an C18th sampler at Culzean Castle. I must finish off the cushion but I think I stopped cos I was finiding the stitches hard to count as it is worked on linen weave rather than aida fabric.

They're lovely, pictish, definitely worth finishing off.
Are they on linen or evenweave? I prefer evenweave to aida because it looks linenish but doesn't have the thick/thin threads problem that linen has.
I dread to think how long it is since I picked up my current cross stitch project _________________ "I can resist everything except temptation" - Oscar Wilde.

I agree with Anna, you should definately finish them off , I should do my cross stitch too. I have a half finished birth sampler for DD2 on the go - he's now 5 1/2 . Hopefully it will be done before he's 6 (January) |

Thanks!! We do leave these things don't we
I am DEFINITELY going to finish the tho - there is only about 15% of the cushion to do - it came with backing, piping and pad in the kit so no excuses for not getting it done once the stitching is finished. The other 2 just need making up as well
Anna think it's evenweave now I come to tink about it
Knitting has just taken over but it's a shame as I love doing cross stitch. _________________ Ali xxx |

Do you use a day-light lamp? That really helps for me - and a magnifying glass which hangs round my neck.
If the above work is an example of you when you are stuggling then I am in awe of what your work is like when you are not struggling!!!!
