We have, despite the almost constant rain, managed to get our raised beds in place AND I have fruit bushes planted: gooseberry; raspberry and
red and blackcurrants.  Am looking for rhubarb and strawberries to complete the soft fruit raised bed.

Seed potatoes have arrived so will be setting those for chitting.

And our new hedge is about half way finished.

Am wondering when my apple trees for the orchard will arrive?

Orchard - wow! We made some raised beds last year - we've only got a tiny space. My ex-landlady keeps offering us raspberry canes and I never seem to get round to it. I love raspberries too. we've got some blueberries in pots - they did really well last year - and I've got one blackcurrant bush and some of those very small fruit trees - the ones which are just a 'stick' really - can't remember what they are called. Arrhhg. We had 3 pears last year hehe. We've got 2 pear trees, 2 apple (although I think one might be dead - will probably replace it) and a cherry.

Oooh - an orchard - how lovely - I have a dwarf apple tree in a pot.

I like to call what I have potager beds but that means in reality a mish mash of fruit and veg and dye plants all fighting it out for space! I've just planted my garlic - six varieties to see which is happiest in my garden.

I have a question for any gooseberry growers. Last year my gooseberry bush was entirely stripped of leaves by sawfly in a matter of days - any tips on preventing it?
