Yarn help please ladies ;o)
My friend has asked me to knit his year old daughter a hat and mittens and he'd like them in a mixed red sort of colourway and would you believe i don't have anything suitable in stash!! Shocked

I'm leaning towards a fingering weight for no other reason than sock wool is more likely to be machine washable which is a must for baby knits i think!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've got a few wool shops in the area that i can have a look round but as i'm after such a specific colour scheme ...
Nativity set
Hows everyone getting on with their nativity sets? I was visiting my mum last month and she gave me a bag of oddments and asked if I could knit a nativity for her friend. Her friends mum had collected the yarn and started Joseph but died 3 years ago.

So far I have knitted Mary and Jesus, hoping to finish the manger and Joseph by the end of the week, nothing is stuffed yet though. I'm using the Jean Greenhowe pattern again with DK oddments

My mums coming up here at the end of November so I ...
Colinette Art
Twistfibre have just got this in and it's absolutely gorgeous!!! It is wool and bamboo, though it feels a bit like Rowan Cocoon ie as though it has a bit of mohair in like Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride too. Very soft and silky and amazing rich colours. Not too expensive for hand dyed @ £6.99 for 100g and it comes with a free jumper/cardi and hat pattern for children and adults I think.

You can see it on the Colinette site [url=http://www.colinette.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=Array&products_i ...
Heather Hoodie KAL anybody?
I finished mine while on holiday in Devon this last week. I love it and have worn it all week. It's warm and practical as well as lovely. I have a few photos of it out and about, and will try to post some tomorrow. For now I'm just enjoying having internet access after a week with no network connection LOL
Fingerless mitts

Just got to sort out some pretty yarn Very Happy

Alternatively I should just get off the PC and do some housework!   Laughing

Christmas along
Shocked

*resists the temptation to run away screaming with hands over ears*

Oh go on then, I'll join you - it was the no entrance fee that swayed me  Wink  Laughing   But I'm not really knitting much for Christmas this year so I'm only along to provide company  Very Happy  I have to do  a pair of socks for Mr FC (which I cast on yesterday) and a pair of socks, perhaps two pairs, for my sister, and I already have one sock finished of a pair that will probably be for her.  So at the m ...
