Kane and Abel
Has anyone else read this book by Jeffery Archer?

Its been out for 30 years and has just been re-released for the anniversary - I picked up a copy last week.

I have never read any JA novels before but I will say I am absolutely devouring this book!!!  I am about halfway through and knitting time is practically on hold just so I can read one more chapter.

Its blooming fantastic IMO - he writes so well and you feel like you are really getting to know the characters and their lives and surroundings.

Right now, I am living in 1920's Boston, America.  I love it Laughing

I will definitely be buying more of his books - I never realised how good he was Cool
Kane and Abel
I did read it when it came out, can't remember any of it though. I did read a few more of his and they were good
Kane and Abel
Not read this one...but have recently got into Jeffrey Archer.  You should try Prisoner of Birth its fab.
Kane and Abel
oh gosh yes Prisoner of Birth is an excellent book - the audio version is amazing too, as the narrator does such a good job.  I never like to admit to liking Jeffrey Archer, but sometimes you just can't help it! Wink   What was the other one that they made a TV serial out of Kane and Abel was one.....?????
Kane and Abel
Gosh I read it ages ago, can it really be that old.

I did enjoy it though.

Oh my, that takes me back! I have a signed copy of (I think) First Among Equals. JA came to our college as a guest of the Conservative society, so of course all being nosy we went along to the meeting and got a book signed afterwards  Very Happy He is certainly a good speaker - the sort that can carry an audience along even if they weren't quite sure they agreed with him, IYSWIM!

(We also had a visit from Cliff one day too but sadly he refused to sing for us ...)

I read it a lot of years ago, I'm sure I read one called The prodigal daughter too....... Confused
I think Prisoner of birth is one of my favourite audiobooks, I've listened to it several times, "Paths of Glory" is good too, thats based on the story of George Mallory, the everest climber, another good one Very Happy

Is there 'Rich man, Poor man' too? I enjoy some of his books and Kane and Abel is great : )
Kane and Abel
I read all his earlier works, there was one about a department store.

I think Rich Man, Poor Man was by Irwin Shaw and was made into a mini series in the late 70's but Kane and Abel was the sequel to this. I am confused.  I must try reading some of his later books.
