Those are lovely and so simple! Needless to say my tea towels are all ghastly boring patterns, but I have some nice cotton quilting fabric in stash which I have never found a use for, I think that would make lovely bags. Probably a niceproject for my Easter holiday. Amazingly I seem to need more knitting project bags as all mine are full of WIPs  Laughing  Laughing

Looks as though I only posted the link via MM blog in original post and as that may disappear here is the direct link to the instructions:

Thanks for bringing this up again, I'd quite forgotten about it.  I can think of a couple of people who would appreciate these, I'd better look for some tea towels.

Now see what you've done  Laughing   I just had to add the tutorial to my favourites and I will now have to look for nice tea towels next week when I go to Edinburgh   Rolling Eyes    They are pretty and look so simple to make that even I might manage it  Laughing

I spent this morning sewing and have produced my first bag:

The outer is a wax print fabric I got at Ally Pally from the African Fabric Shop, the lining is a very old cotton pillow case which I dyed, and I made some pockets from an African batik print , also from the AFS.

I decided to make straps instead of using webbing, I'd forgotten how long it takes to turn them LOL.

Once I'd got the size and everything right I made a pattern and have cut out two more bags to be sewn tomorrow:

More African Batik for the outside, a random fabric in my stash for the lining and a Langa Lapu pocket.

The lining of the previous bag now used for the outer, with Langa Lapu lining and a Batik for the pocket.

I haven't done any sewing for ages, and I really enjoyed it. I'm planning to make some skirts and a dress now  Very Happy

Ha!! Once you get started it's kind of addictive isn't it?

Lovely bag - can't wait to see the others made up!
