I always cook a Gammon joint in the slow cooker, put it in in the morning, cover with boiling water from the kettle, put the lid on and leave it all day.
By the evening it is so tender the meat literally falls apart.  You have to leave it a while to carve it though otherwise you wont get slices iykwim Very Happy

Much better than roasting I think Very Happy

Actually Jessica it was, even more so I think. DS asked what I had done differently - he said the meat was softer, I know what he meant too. I bought a Breville slow cooker Jessica, this one the recipe book is limited but I liked the brushed stainless steel effect  Rolling Eyes and I like things to look good as well as work well.
