The sock looks fabby and the scarf is gorgeous! Very nice work Mr P!

Can I ask how many skeins it took for the scarf? It also looks like it is warped with Aslan as well as woven? I ask because I have a rigid heddle loom and despite my best intentions, haven't used it yet. I was thinking a small scarf would be a good first project  Smile

Thanks!!! I will tell him Razz It IS indeed warped with Lion and Lamb and I think took only 1 skein - I would only let him buy one as it was only his second thing woven and I thought he was being a bit presumptious using that Laughing  Laughing It is a LITTLE too tightly woven so is not as drapey as he had intended and is not a huge scarf but VERY nice indeed Cool He has the largest size rigid heddle and that is what he used.

Thanks Jo - I DO think he's very clever Cool It was a beautiful present.

Thanks for the info, it's a lovely one skein project! I have some Shepherd Worsted and I may well use one skein in this way  Very Happy

Mr P says if you DO splash out and use the Lion & Lamb at some point, just be careful as the silk in it can fluff up if it's rubbed but it is ok for warping if you're gentle with it Cool

I just used some cheap acrylic to practice with when I got my loom - I must confess that is as far as I got tho Embarassed  Laughing

Ah thanks Mr P, good point about the silk  Very Happy I had some tangled Posh cashmere/silk aran ages ago (when they first started) and a bit of it had to be chucked out, it fluffed up so badly while being untangled.

I think I will use something less pricey for my first attempt, it's finding the time to set it all up that's the problem!

The longest time is in the warping - once you've warped up you can weave the scarf in about 1-2 hours Razz

I haven't warped myself yet - I need Mr P's help Laughing
