I know I said I was all socked out this month having already done 4 pairs due to Dad having both a birthday and Father's Day within 2 weeks of each other, but when I thought I'd finished, Mum came up with a request. Could I knit 2 pairs of men's socks so she could put them away for Christmas as a present for a friend?
I sorted through my stash and came up with these, size 10, knitted on 2.5mm circular by Magic Loop using Opal Rodeo shade 1154.
I'm pleased with how well they match and know that he'll get lots of wear from them as Opal goes on for ever doesn't it. I'm still wearing the very first pair I ever made and they're still looking good. Best crack on with the other pair and hope she doesn't have any more little plans up her sleeve
Tracy

Have you joined the same sock challenge as Hanne WW? If not then you should, you're well on your way to making 52 pairs in a year!!
Lovely socks, very manly colours _________________

No Franney, I'd fail at the first hurdle. As much as I love knitting socks especially self patterning ones, to knit a pair every week would be torture. I take my hat off to those who sign themselves up for this. I'd be expelled for slacking after a month I expect This month has been particularly good for me as the boys have been doing a fair bit of revision/catch up plus Mr Woollywarbler has been working on a project allowing me to knit to my heart's content
Once this last pair is done I'll settle back into a pair a month and also choose some of my really lovely handdyed, hand wash only bits just for me with a tempting pattern or two. Unfortunately the family and friends who I knit for, love straight up, ribbed cuff, bung in the washing machine type of socks which can make for very boring knitting. I'm getting quite excited at making something just for me again _________________

They are great! I'd like to knit OH a secret pair for Xmas but (this sounds sad ha!) we hardly spend any time apart. We work at the same place. I need a plan! _________________ Sharon |
