It was FABULOUS - just like terri's ticker
I am exhausted, and my little head is in a whirl and just bursting with ideas. I can't begin to tell you what I have learned - including would you believe how to tie a slip knot properly as apparently what I have been doing FOR EVER might be a knot but it isn't a slip knot
Where do I begin - Channel Island cast on, Tubular cast on, Provisional Crochet cast On ( but Lucy who is simply the nicest person ever had to help me endlessly with that as it involved a dpn and a hook, not a crochet chain ) running yarn markers, waste yarn openings - for afterthought heels, grafting with a toe chimney, Modified Conventional Bind Off ( which is just ace ) and flying swallow stitch.........
..........and I can do toe up short rows toes and heels
There was a lot more, but I can't think right now.
We had a yarn swap on Friday evening - I swapped some Fleece Artist, Yarn Yard Bonny and Fyberspates yarns for some Posh laceweight, Art Yarns sock yarn and Lornas Laces in Watercolour so I was very pleased.
I had a passenger who I picked up at Birmingham International, and with her petrol money ( bless her, unecessary but very kind ) I bought Lucy's second DVD, and for myself I bought a skein of Artisan Yarn in cami chic.
I have met some wonderful people and some truly stunning and awesomely talented creative knitters.
We stayed here and it was WONDERFUL. I have slept in a four poster bed
We took three of the barns, using Great East Barn for socialising and workshops, and Greys Court ( which is where my room was ) for eating. We went to the most wonderful pub on Saturday night The Three Horseshoes where I had the best steak and kidney pudding I have ever tasted
The weekend was wonderful, and worth every single penny. Lucy Neatby has to be just one of the loveliest ( and most patient ) people. Ever!
Oh, but does it ever rain in Norfolk _________________

I can't believe it all went so very quickly
It was a lovely place to stay. I have only been to Norfolk once before, I'll definitely be returning. _________________

WOW! That all sounds amazing. Who'd have thought there was that much to learn about socks! It looks a wonderful place too, and I "think" you were probably lucky it was rain and not snow, cos I read a Norfolk lass's blog and last weekend they had about 8 inches.
So glad you had such a good time. _________________ Claire

I think I am going to use a tubular cast on for EVERYTHING from now on.
So much of what I learned is useful for so much more than socks. And of course you learn from other knitters too.
