I made a pair of these last year and wore them to oblivion! It's a great pattern and it's free, it's by Miriam L. Felton and is vailable on Ravelry in PDF form but here's a link anyway Razor Shell Socks the pattern is well written and easy to follow. And the socks stay up!
Knitted using Yarn Yard Bonny ( formerly known as sock yarn ) the colourway is Bloom and I love it. They took me eight days, which is pretty darn good for me with socks.
More photos and info on Ravelry and also on my blog

Thank you everyone
I have made an executive decision and decided summer is not the time for jumpers and cardis and big knits that lie on your lap and keep your knees warm while you're knitting so it's lots of smaller projects for me for a while.
The colours are LOVELY aren't they. _________________
