well, a quick google search has turned up the fact that the people that made the video sell them - here Only £2.95 each. Mind you, it's £4.50 for P&P though up to £80 maybe we should consider a bulk order? Actually, that looks like a very interesting company, have bookmarked it for a good look later on.
Personally I like Linz's approach! Or perhaps someone here with a partner into woodworking could branch out into making them?
Edited to add - didn't someone got a modern one in the Secret Santa last year? So perhaps they are still being made by someone like Prym or Inox Edited again, yeah it's Prym - the only UK-based one I can find is here , no price displayed though. But at least we know they're out there  _________________

Just in case anyone's still looking, John Lewis have darning mushrooms, the Prym ones painted to look like a toadstool. £2.95. I bought one at the store on Oxford Street in London last week
