Well, i've found a hook that makes sqaures the same size as last year so i've been getting on with some crochet today! (i lost the bone hook i was using and so this project has been shoved in the corner for the last year!! )
I've decided to make the blanket 5x4 blocks, ten in multicolour and ten in single colours so there'll be one block in each single shade
Only seven blocks to go and i'm done, then i can get to working out how to join them all and edge it

That is gorgeous Franney, I do love those baby bamboo colours. When I've finished my Babette blanket this book is a strong contender for my next afgahn now I've been reminded of yours - and the yarn is a strong contender too, it's really lovely. _________________

Thanks Carola
It's a really lovely book and although there are no charts for the blocks the instructions are well written - easy enough for me to follow anyway!! _________________

Another bunch of squares done on Monday and Tuesday. Unfortunately two of Monday's blocks came out really wrong, so yesterday i had to redo the lilac one, and that took three attempts to get a square i was happy with... the dark pink one still needs some adjustments so that is today's task, along with making block #20!! Can't believe i am nearly done!
Blocks as follows:
14 - pale pink - plain granny
15 - pale blue - sunshine lace
16 - dark pink - webbed lace
17 - lilac - top picture is old vienna, bottom picture is victorian lace
18 - teal blue - edwardian fancy
19 - dark blue - sunray
And here are the 18 completed blocks so far - i was going to wait til i had finished all 20 but i got impatient to see what they all looked like together
The solid colours that are missing are the dark pink and the dark beigey colours. This probably won't be the final layout but i'll have a proper play when i'm finished making the blocks _________________

That looks really lovely franney! I think I might even be tempted to just do one as a sampler so I would have tried out the blocks I liked best. They go really well together _________________

They are looking so good Franney - I reckon half the fun is putting the squares together to see which way you want the order of your blanket to be.
Its going to be an absolutely fantastic blanket
