It won't win any prizes but here it is. Can anyone tell me how to take a good photo of something on you when there's only you to take the blooming picture?
and the terrible buttonholes
I tried the top stitch thread but it looked so ugly (worse than this), so I took it out but somehow managed to move the line of guide stitching
Still that's supposed to be what the SWRI is about - teaching us ignorant country women a thing or two!

That is lovely, and the button holes look fine to me, much better than I could do I suspect! _________________ Sandra |

Just a quick update. This was the only entry in our institute (WRI) part of the competition and as such won a place (by default) into the final group level, which is to be judged tonight. I've just pressed it and will whisk it away and let you know how it gets on. Don't hold your breath, there should be 8 other entries and I expect them all to be better than mine. _________________

Thanks Girls, the standard was very high (according to the judge) and I came third. I'm very pleased with that as I beat lots of very experienced sewers. Not sure if I'll do any more dressmaking but glad I gave it a go.
