Cast on for this today, it's a Sue morgan design called the sunny cardi.

an my progress so far

I'm about 3 inches from finishing the back, I still can't decide if I like the colour or not.  It looks a little dark, much darker than the picture shows really.

Thanks, I think it is growing on me.  Jessica seems to like it, brighter colours seem to suit her whereas this is quite dark rather than bright.

THe colours are shades of purple rather than pink, a better picture of the yarn can be found

Oh I think it is a super colour, with lots of scope for setting off a bright dress or trousers. I love to see little ones wearing colours and combinations that surprise.
What a gorgeous pattern it is too.

And here we are, all finished.  I am quite proud of this as usually when I hit a hiccup the item gets discarded but I plodded on an finished instead of relegating to the naughty corner.

The sleeves didn't go well, the tops where much to small for the arm hole, and the length nowhere near long enough for her, my fault should have checked that out before I cast off.  Anyway, I made the sleeve tops to wide but didn't want to frog it back so  decided to gather it at the top of the arm instead, don't know what this is called tho.

The cardi literally just fits where it touches, but I hope she will at least get the summer out of it, she's done a lot of growing recently so it's about time for a slow down.    Sorry for the loads of pictures, I couldn't decide which ones where the best.
