It's a bit wonky - things don't join up as nicely as they should - but it is my first go! I've got 3 more of these to make, then I need to sew them together.

Thanks for your kind words of encouragement! I've hardly stopped sewing/ironing all evening - apart from 10 mins to cook some pasta for tea! Have joined up the other sections into squares and joined the top and bottom halves together - so i've now got 2 rectangles to join together tomorrow. I realised when I was joining the last 2 that I should probably have pressed the seams in opposite directions - oops. It's a learning experience hehe! I've also managed to wash all the fabric I bought for my snowdrop square - can't wait to get started on that.

Well done Sprite - no one would guess it was your first go!  And those fabrics are just so pretty together.

Right - I might just need a bit of help now. I now have a bigger square - pretty pleased with how it's turned out. Now I need to add a border about an inch all round - I'm going to use one colour and I reckon it needs to be bigger than my final size to take account of a bit of quilting (I'm not planning on doing a lot - might just kinda outline all the triangles? Not sure) - then trim it to size at the end (well, I'm pretty sure that's what the lady in the shop recommended anyway).

I think I want the corners to be 'mitred' - is there a special (easy!?) way to do this? I'll have a look in my book in a bit - see if there are any tips.

Here's a photo of what it looks like now!
