Very nice, such lovely colours, is the micro monkey pattern in a magasine? Or available online, I wouldn't mind having a go at little ones before casting on for adult size, all the instructions for it look quite scary

Cathie the Monkey pattern is so easy I was able to adjust it to make these fit my 3 year old after knitting 2 pairs of Monkeys.I use 4 DPNs so adjust if you use circs.
Cast on 48 in a fingering weight yarn, knit a 2x2 twisted rib as in the original pattern. Then using 12 stitches on each needle use the pattern in this chart I knit 3-4 pattern repeats before doing the heel flap, which is plain stocking stitch of 24 stitches. Then I use cookie's instructions replacing (slip one purl 17 then purl2 together) with 13 then purl 2 together etc. I use Grumperina's twisted knit stitch pick up edge along the side etc.
Ask if I haven't been clear enough Cathie, but these socks are knit in 2-3 evenings the ones above have only 6 repeats of the pattern in total. _________________ " Onen i-Estel Edain, U-chebin estel anim"

Thanks for that, will give it a go later once the kids are in bed, I should have finally finished my current WIP's by then, determined not to start casting on for more projects before I have finished whats OTN this year. I wonder how long that will last!

Very sweet - and such cute little feet
Cathie - I am knitting my first pair of Monkeys atm and the pattern is very easy, and very very well written. In fact, I would recommend if for beginner sock knitters who want something a bit more interesting than the basic sock. There are step by step instructions all the way. _________________
