Well I didn't do very well at all It was so very hot (plus.... not that I'm making excuses.... "that" time of the month) I jogged the first half then slowed to a walk to drink some water. Although I obviously needed to drink the slowing was a mistake as I never really managed to jog a good distance again, it was all fits and starts.
So My sister came home in 33 1/2, she jogged pretty much the whole way, my stopwatch ran out of battery (!!) but we reckon I was probably 35 1/2 - 36, and Mum - who did amazingly well - was probably 2 mins behind me, and our friend Sue who was walking it came in at around 43 mins.
If I'm honest I'm a bit disappointed with myself, but that's just on a personal level, because I had trained quite hard and felt I could have pushed myself a bit more.... the heat was a killer for me though!. The run was great, it was a lovely day and we all had a great time back here afterwards with a big BBQ. Loads of food and chat! And between the 4 of us we raised well over £700. Which is awesome!!

Oh Noo, please - you are a star - you, your sister, Jessica and your friend Sue, you all are!
What you achieved between you yesterday was remarkable. So what if you didn't do as well as you'd hoped, I know it's a race, but it's a race with one winner - Cancer Research UK. Weather conditions always provide a variable - look how hot it was for Rob's half marathon, and for him then it became about position, not time. I bet that comparitively speaking, taking in the conditions, you improved on last year.
Just feel really proud of yourself - I know I'm proud of you! _________________

Phew Terri 10K?????? - My sister reckoned we should do that next year as she wants us to keep running together once a week as it's a nice opportunity for her to have a little alone time without the kiddies. We'll have to see how it goes! _________________ Claire

I may recover by Thursday!!!
I walked it in an hour, I know I could have done it a lot quicker than that, but I got talking quite a lot, possibly because I was knitting as well
Very basic garter stitch shawl, but it's about 10 inches long, and I was caught up at the tail end of the 13141 people who walked / ran today
It was a new venue, and where I did my warm-up was furthest from the start!
I got into quite a good stride a few times, with the help of Mika and the Scissor Sisters on my phone, I even took my headphones out and played it through the speaker a few times as well. (Phone tucked in my bra strap so I could carry on knitting!)
Well, it was a brilliant day, I have had a foot rub, and am off for a relaxing bath now.
