I thought I was ahead with my Christmas knitting, silly girl!  Just as I thought it was safe to do something for me, the inevitable happened.
Mum told me Dad was after some dark grey socks which I did last week, despite the fact that he is a roomy 10 and it was stocking stitch. I had already cast on in this Opal yarn hoping that it would be unisex and I think I should be able to get away with it, so he can have these too.

Of course, whilst I was measuring the foot against DH's who has the same sized feet as Dad, he mumbled something about the lack of hand made socks in his drawer, gulp  Embarassed...and then to top it off DS2 put in a request just as I remembered that I'd promised my Uncle a pair too.

I only wanted some nice festive red ones for me, but now 3 and a half pairs of socks and finishing a hoodie for my niece, I think I may be pushed for time. Best get on with it then....is it too early for a g&t (to settle my nerves of course Wink )

Tracy

That's lovely yarn, what is it?  That's if you've time to post up the answer, what with all those socks to knit - good luck!

Oh, and it's never too early for a G&T ....  Mr. Green

Hick!
I'm waiting for 5 o'clock...honest! (At least it will be dark then hehe)

I'm pretty sure it's Opal Magic, I've mislaid the label again. I've made a pink version of these and the pattern looks the same to me and I know for certain that's what they were. I've done the heel this afternoon anyway in between waiting for the kitchen floor to dry and the laundry to finish tumbling. Smile
I like knitting these as I can see exactly how much more to go with the stripes etc.

Another hour and a quarter to go and it'll be an ice and slice! occasion5 hmm, pint glasses may be a little too much  Wink

Doesn't everyone use pint glasses for their drinks?   Confused  Maybe it's just me then  Laughing  I find it saves on having to get up for refills  Cool

Crikey - I thought I'd taken on too much just trying to knit my Dad a pair for Xmas. I'm pretty sure I won't manage it too!

Those socks are a lovely colour.
I'm knitting nothing for christmas except a scarf and hat for my neice which was done in May. It was for her birthday but that was June so was a bit unseasonal. I knit socks for family and friends for birthdays but so far its only my mum and sons who have asked.

1 pair down for December,....must knit faster.....pant, pant...somebody pass me my Chibi... help can someone else take the mince pies out the oven?!

That's Dad's second pair finished, despite having knitted the second leg, getting to the heel and realising I'd cast on 64 stitches and not 72, oh the pain. I nearly gave up then and thought stuff it. So three legs later here I am, Magic Loop 2.5mm circular, Opal Magic sized for a roomy 10.

All I have to do now is knit the rest of the Christmas pile surrounding these and I'll be winning Rolling Eyes  It's knitting all the way for me now until the big day I think. I even found myself microwavig porridge yesterday with a sock in my hand, talk about multi tasking! Next year I shan't ask people what they'd like for Christmas during the last week of November, despite having saved a couple of pairs over the year for presents. So much for "Christmas knitting? Who me? Nah, done all that!"
