Of the things I've finished this year I am most proud of my first pair of socks - and I wear them constantly - well I do wash them occasionally Knitted in good old Opal Magic using the Opal pattern. Oh how I struggled with those nasty pointy things the first time and I NEVER thought I would get SO addicted. And just look at those ears Is it just 9 months since I had NO sock wool AT ALL???
And the big thing I wear the most - tho it was not a hard knit by any stretch of the imagination - is this wrap cardi knitted in DB Alpaca Silk DK in Damson from the Alpaca Silk II book. I just LOVE it and it shows off the jubblies quite well I think
Oooh I look a lot slimmer there

I love that wrap top I still have some black alpaca silk in my stash waiting to be transformed into a top like that for me!!!!
My first socks were opal magic too, the red colour though, and funnily enough, I have them on my feet today _________________ Terri xx |

aah, our first pair of socks are so important and dear to each of us and I know what you mean, I can't believe it's only been 9 months since I too discovered socks and sock yarn
I remember that cardi as well, it's lovely, looks fabulous on you, very flattering. And wow, nice cleavage Mrs! I'm very jealous _________________

Lovely socks and cardigan. I have that Alpaca silk book and it looks nicer in real life. It fits really well.
I still love how Opal knits up. It's a real incentive to keep going. _________________ Anne |

I remember the wrap Ali and I think it looks great on you - and it's such a beautiful colour.
And I love the colour of the opal. I have still quite a soft spot for magic and elemente. _________________

Your socks look great and I love your cardi.
An old farmers wife who has knitted sock for sixty years said the worst thing you can do is wash wool socks more the 5 times a year and one of the things I learnt when I started to put weight on was to always wear my sheep dog bra just to make sure they were rounded up and pointed in the right direction.
At the moment I don't think I would win too many sheepdog trials
