They've grown anyway I'm pretty chuffed with Elfine as they're toe up, something I'm not that familiar with. I changed the heel too after knitting the original version and not liking my result.
Time to knit their mates unless anyone knows if wearing odd socks is set to be this year's fashion frenzy?

I really like those. The colour you have chosen looks wonderful witht he pattern.
I wonder if I could adapt them to cuff down.
Wonder if something as simple as doing the pattern upside down would work or is that just too obvious? _________________ http://traceyscrafts.blogspot.com

Thanks!
Knitty witty woo, why don't you try a little swatch and see how it goes. I did think about cuff down and playing with the pattern but my stubborness to attempt toe ups without being beaten prevailed....if I'm honest, I actually quite enjoyed the process even when I totally confused myself trying to do a heel flap on a pattern that has been designed for short rows.
Got to sand down the paintwork in DS2's bedroom before I can do the other noughts n crosses.....isn't it always the way that when you come across a new sock pattern that cannot be ignored, somebody finds you something else to do? I even dreamt about the flippin' thing last night and I've got just the yarn for the job too....and spare needles....and.....and........
