Just for a change I am making good progress on these. Have done about an hour a day on them for the last few days, and they are knitting up surprisingly quickly despite the rib.
They are from the charmed knits book and they the harry potter's pattern using Chrissy's wool, not sure what the colour is called.
The heal was rather scary and took me right out of my comfort zone, all short rows felt very strange not to knit a few inches on one needle do the heal and pick up stitches. I really thought for a moment that it wouldn't look good.
I do think it has knitted up quicker than the standard heal though despite being a bit fiddly

That's looking brilliant! I've never been brave enough to try a short-row heel - far too scary - so huge round of applause from me to you, well done! _________________

Those are looking great, you're very brave stepping out of your comfort zone, I'm too scared to try short row heels!! _________________ Jo

Thanks, I didn't realise it was a short row heal pattern before I got to it, I never read through a pattern before I start. I don't think I would have started it TBH, I was tempted to just do the ordinary heal. The toes also short rows as well, but think I will give it a go just to see
