I thought as Advent is approaching and the festive season is almost with us that I would post my Advent calendar. It was made using an old Avon pattern which SIL had made several years ago. The little pockets just take 2 small chocolates - I have bought little nets of santas and snowmen from M&S - just the right size.

Can you get kits for them Aknita? The little squares would be a good start for you on cross-stitch Terri You could work on them in spare moments throughout the year ready for them for next Christmas. _________________ Ali xxx |

It came in kit form initially from Avon of all things but that was years ago - I borrowed the pattern from SIL and used up my anchor stash for colours. You actually work 4 strips of six, but each date is a little project in it's own right and they make lovely inserts for Christmas cards. _________________

That is lovely Aknita...I've been meaning to do a cross stitch advent calendar for a while now!!! You've inspired me to try and get one done for next Christmas....think I've left it too late now!
