Thanks Cathie, what is putting you off trying it? It's really very easy as each 16 stitches is symmetrical with 4 repeats of the 16 stitches to a round (does that make sense?) and although there are 11 rows to a repeat 3 are all knit rows and 2 are p2(3) k14(12) so that leaves only 6 where you have yo/k2tog/ssk Smile
Go for it! Smile

Kewl! I shall go on a Monkey hunt in a bit Very Happy
Mind you, i think the world and her cat are knitting Monkeys, or any Cookie pattern at the moment, she's very popular on "my" Yahoo groups - and with good reason, her patterns are yummy!

I think there's a fair few Monkeys lurking around on this forum, so you could try searching here too Very Happy I've done them, Blossom has too, and Gilraen I think ...

Cathie, it really is a very straightforward pattern, I don't think you'd have any problems with it once you got started on it. You won't know until you try .... Wink Very Happy

Thankyou, thankyou, i finished the second repeat this morning but Monkey is now on hold for a washcloth which is nearing completion so it'll be Monkey again tonight Smile
I usually do swatch, but only ever a little bit, i'd hate to cast on and get started and find out it doesn't fit right, i hate frogging, it's so depressing Sad

Lovely monkey. Very Happy And swatching?!!! I'm very impressed. If my socks end up too small they're given to the girls and if they end up too big (whihc they haven't yet) I'd give them to my Dad. See no need for swatching. Wink

I find with socks that I start, if it isn't right I frog and start again. Is that swatching? Smile
