This is the old yarn.
The yarn's pattern changes according to the size of the skein, and the old skeins were bigger (diameter, I mean).
The colours are the same, but this blog (not mine) gives you an idea of how the new one knits (approximately).

I could probably make a more variegated one, but so much of it depends on the number of stitches etc, a few either way changes it quite a lot.

Size 3!! My son is a size 2.............
No wonder a 9 is huge, whereas I'm a size 5 1/2 -6 feet. _________________ " Onen i-Estel Edain, U-chebin estel anim"

I am decreasing for the toe on Sock One.
I'm going to take them on holiday... this is TRUE LOVE. I have a skein of deep violet shading to lilac yarn which I dyed for ME (a rare thing these days) which I really really want to make a start on.... symbolic holiday socks... you know, started on the first day sort of thing.
