I'll take a pic later, but I just wanted to report that I have finally got going.
They are husband-socks so they may take some time.
72 stitches, K2 P2 rib down to the ankles.... but I've only done a couple of cm so far.
They are in Bushcraft, but since I have already knitted him fingerless gloves from part of the skein, i know there won't be enough, so the rib section is variegated and the foot will be a soft lichen-green, which won't be seen in his shoes anyway.

CJ I am DEEPLY SHOCKED at your lack of wifely willingness to knit your man some socks.
I think this should be your April Challenge.
(Do you think this will slow here down a bit girls?)

ok, I have promised to knit him a pair imminently, but he has to be nice to me first. And I don't have any blokish colours, he'll have to wait for my parcel to arrive from Germany first. Unless I use my YY bubblegum yarn - what do you reckon???? _________________ Ravelry ID ~ ChristinaJL |

n - I have some socks for MrP languishing in the my lovely sock bag a la Franney. Same pattern but slightly bigger pins and thicker yarn = (hopefully) quicker knitting. _________________

The Bushcraft looks like great Hubbie sock yarn.
CJ you could have knit DH a pair in Blue Parrot! _________________ " Onen i-Estel Edain, U-chebin estel anim"

DH loves my socks, just cannot knit them quick enough.
Still plodding with Dad's about 2/3" to go on the foot I hope. _________________ Fi, The Beach Babe |

These are in the "old" bushcraft. The "new" one is softer and will knit as a semi-stripe, depending on the number of stitches.
