Thank you all for your lovely comments Here's progress so far ...
Am now on the foot part and has become much more straight forward as DD1 wants a plain foot, rather than the lacy one

Thanks, Gilraen ... I'm pleased with them but, even better, DD1 likes them! I've been giggling at the pic though - the whitish shadow at the cuff is my talcum 'ghost' ... I sprinkle it on my hands as I knit to stop sticky fingers

I haven't used lifelines as yet, n ... but maybe I should??? This pattern hasn't been a problem so far as its only 2 different rows, repeated. Heading off to read how you make a lifeline ...

I's honestly pretty straightforward to do, Kate. Not sure how it would have been to take the pattern down the foot, but DD1 just wants it plain
