This forum is for "one off" charity auctions. We will be holding a seperate auction week later in the year.
The point of this forum is that maybe you want to sponsor someone to do something, but have more stash than cash?, or just have something that you would rather auction than sell or swap.
The only rule is that a minumum of 25% (and indeed any percentage upward of that !!) of the proceeds must go to a charity, and whether the buyer donates that percentage direct or the seller donates it out of the full proceeds of the sale, either must be prepared to prove that the donation has in fact been made to charity. (I hope that doesn't sound mean, but I think everyone will understand !!) If you are doing a series of auctions over a period of time - say sponsoring someone per month, and you want to make a total donation at the end of the period of time, then that should be mentioned in your thread. - Just so that everyone knows what the score is!!!
When posting your thread please make clear your auction ending date and time (including which time zone you are in!), the percentage you are donating to charity, and which charity it is to go to (and why if you want to !!) As we are international you should also add if there would be a postage surcharge for international posting and what it is!!
The reason this forum came about was a discussion between Terri and I about my race for life, and her stashalong. . . see page 2 of this thread .
The rules may change/be added to/taken away from etc etc as we see how this works, it's going to have to be one of those things that evolves a little bit I think. If anyone has any immediate thoughts though feel free to let me know!
