Posted on the old forum - thought i'd bring it over here too...
any excuse to show off my sockses Wink

Pattern: Lombard Street (modified)
Yarn: Utiku merino
Needle: Addi 2mm 100cm long
Modifications: Eye of Partridge heel, Princess foot
Cast on: 02/02/07

Rubbish picture, will get the proper camera out when they are both finished, this was taken with my crappy camera phone.
This merino is lovely to work with, very soft and sproingy, i'm knitting it without puling it taut and i am getting a lovely soft dense fabric Cool
Cuff was done Friday night, heel Saturday night and gusset Sunday night. I'll start the second sock tonight and then finish both at once so i don't have to count the foot rows too dilligently to get them the same Wink
I've modified the foot somewhat - carried the cable at the back down the heel, stopped the cable at the front at the foot and modified the lace on the foot so that i am only carrying the outside chevrons down to the toe. I'll mostly be wearing them in crocs so i want them to be comfy and the cable on the front would have been too bulky.
I'm really enjoying this sock which is good cos hopefully i'll have the pair done by Friday and i can wear them to the craft show Very Happy

Thankyou very much ladies, i am really enjoying knitting this pattern Smile
Last night i finished the second cuff and i hope to crack on tonight and get the heel AND gusset decreases done so that tomorrow i can start on the feets. I know they will take longer as i HATE stocking stitch (and reverse stocking stitch) so i'll be putting them down often in frustration! Laughing

Thankyou pictish Smile
Here's an update photo:

You can see my cable needle hanging from the drawstring of my sockbag Wink
The colour is a lot truer with the "proper" camera, i had to stand in the light cos the red is SO bright it just reflected and blinded me Cool
