Great thread!   Very Happy  I've not used many expensive yarns, or at least not got around to finishing, wearing or washing any full-sized garments yet using them  Rolling Eyes  Embarassed  Laughing so can't really comment, but it's really interesting to know others' experiences of them - thank you  Very Happy

I'm going to put in a word for my trusty cheapos  Razz  Stylecraft and Robin Arans (wool and acrylic mix that come in 400g balls) and Sirdar/Hayfield Bonus.  Machine washable and no pilling at all  Very Happy  However I can't say such good things about Twilleys Freedom Spirit ....  Rolling Eyes  Evil or Very Mad  That pills very easily, and from something as simple as carrying a handbag on my shoulder with my coat on over it  Shocked

I like the 400gm arans too, have used a couple of them. I am disappointed to hear about Twilleys freedom I just bought the pattern book and a pack of 10 balls of yarn. Oh well at least I know in advance  Very Happy
