Although Kerrie replied saying that I could work the bands on the opposite sides of the cardigan (which won't work because the cardigan is asymmetrical), a week later and I'm still waiting for a proper reply to my question about this!

S'funny cos someone from a subscription agency rang on my mobile last week to try to get me to take out a £3 for 3 issue subscription for a knitting magazine that I won't buy EVER because it's sold in a plastic bag. I did buy it the once as we went away in the caravan and I took it with me to read when I was there. Let's just say that having been in the subscription renewal business I know all the sales techniques and in the end the sales person hung up on me!! Just plain rude I'd say _________________ Melody's blog

Have you tried sending the designer, Aileen, a message? It could be that no one has bothered to let on that there has been a query about her design I have just looked through the YarnForward group on Rav and there isn't any queries about the design, the 13 who have knitted it have obviously followed the pattern to the letter _________________ ravelry id : janice61

I know Janice!! The fact that the cardie buttons the wrong way would bug me so much I couldn't wear it if I knitted it as is _________________ Melody's blog

OK - would this work? Follow the instruction for each side like the pattern says, but finish with a knit instead of purl row (or vice versa)
Would that reverse the shaping without changeing the instructions? _________________ www.spin-a-yarn.blogspot.com - my personal blog

I'm not sure Claire as I think the collar needs to be knitted the other way round as well so that the cabled side is on the outside and the two fronts need to be reversed in addition to the buttonbands being on the wrong sides
I did actually work out how things should sit by mocking up a little paper jacket a few weeks ago but I'm still waiting for my reply from Yarn Forward!!! _________________ Melody's blog

TBH I'm like you, it would bug me no end to have the buttons on the wrong side which is why although I do like it, I haven't queued it Maybe someone should start a new post on Rav asking why the pretty cardigan has been designed for a man
