I got this as a Karma swap I think but I'd had my eye on the Apple Strudel jacket. I tend not to buy magazines as a rule, as you know  Wink

I won't be renewing my sub this year either, I had such a nightmare with all the errors in the Mystery blanket, and am fed up with the poor proof reading and down right lies (mystery blanket was 30 squares from the outset, they only gave patterns for 4 months (6 at a time)  and then said by popular demand they would provide patterns for another 6 Evil or Very Mad ).
The photography is rubbish, and as Nevisknitter mentioned  they have shown garments inside out and worn the wrong way round, there really is no excuse for it, DH is in magazine publishing so we know what's involved and they are just being sloppy.
Oh and I want to read about british things not american, that's why I buy a british mag yet since Shannon has taken over it's changing.

Oh dear, sorry melody  Embarassed ranting thread hijack alert  Embarassed

I hope you get an answer to your email - but I wouldn't hold my breath, sounds like you with be making a 'melody strudel' instead.

Oh no I couldnt cope with that collar - it looks quite odd Confused

There are a couple of Chicknit patters which look quite similar - Twist and the Basic Chic Hoodie - which you do do with a collar instead of the hood Smile

Just a thought - wiould it be worth mailing the designer, if you don't hear back from YF?  She's on Rav as 'Aileen' I believe.

One of the ladies at my knitting group has knitted this and I have to say it looks lovely on her. She's not on Ravelry so I can't show you a link.

I like Yarn Forward.

just a thought - does it fasten the wrong way round or is the photo in the magazine flipped? very often photos are the wrong way round and no-one notices unless there are words in the pictures.

To be honest I'm not sure if it has been rotated ---- all the piccies on RAv show the cardigan as in the magazine. I think I need to read the instructions through carefully to find out.

I heard back from Kerrie at Yarn Forward who suggested knitting the buttonband on the other front which is a good suggestion, but I'm fairly sure that the fronts are a different width to each other. I'll have to check that too.

Thanks all - I'll let you know what happens!

Check this with Kerrie but I seem to remember that the version in the mag has narrower buttonbands than the photos cos Kerrie liked a wider ribbon with apples on so she made her version (which was used on the photos) with wider button bands to accomodate the wider ribbon.

I only remember cos I liked the ribbon and then someone queried the instructions......
