Im gonna have to frog it i guess what do u guys think ?

Photo to be added tomorrow so u can see !

am EVEN more p***ed of with this today SIGH

can u see that stripe - i just dont know what to do - whether to frog it now while i feel brave
or throw it in naughty corner & do something else
or frog the whole lot & admit the colour not as good as i thought as a top & make a bag instead

I just dont know Sad

Doesnt help that i feel very very very down last few days

Oh Rosie, I can only send virtual {{{hugs}}}.  I think I'd suggest leaving it for a while and come back to it when you're feeling better.

I, personally couldn't live with the stripe but I'm too much of a perfectionist.  Give it a wee slap and put it in the naughty corner for now.
Hope you start to feel better soon.

That is so frustrating for you. If it is going to bother you so you don't end up wearing the top I would rip it back now and try something else. What about a top down pattern on circulars, that might solve the pooling? If you put it away it will probably not come out again and it is a nice yarn. The colours are lovely so I would not want to waste it. Maybe you could do something simple for now to lift your mood and reuse this yarn when you feel better.

Ah, been there and the sweater ended up doing nothing, in a corner, the yarn went funny cos it was rolled up in a ball, so now it is bin fodder  Confused   I would frog it and knit something else.

Oh no!  Sad Is that the Wendy Supreme Cotton DK you bought from me a little while ago?? I didn't realise it knitted up like that I'm really sorry (I feel SO guilty now....  Embarassed )

I have to say that I would frog it if you feel unhappy with the outcome - it's not going to get any better if you ignore it unfortunately  Sad  Sad

It IS lovely yarn and it would be a shame to waste it - could you rekint the garment (if you're happy with the style, fit, etc) but use the invisible striping method where you knit 2 rows from one ball and 2 rows from another to reduce the pooling effect?

{{{hugs}}} hon  Sad I know how you feel!!

Well it only did that in one place just the totally wrong one - im currently hunting on rav to find a pattern i like - now i dont usually wear knitted tees but thought i would wear this to work but i cant find another pattern i like.

Any ideas guys ? I need to knit a v necked or sweetheart necked tee with short sleeves but no longer feel comfortable in no sleeves Sad

If i can find another pattern will frog it all as im not sure of fit either - perhaps ill go pin it all togehter to see ....... wanders away aimlessly

I've had that happen too on many occasions with variegated yarn - 1 ball knitting up different to the rest or even halfway through a ball Confused  - and too many times to count with hand dyed sock yarns Confused If it was me I'd frog back to the offending part and use another ball if you have a spare as the others you've used don't seem to be doing that. Or frog the lot and knit the whole front and knit with alternating balls - I think you would have to do it all like that though as it would knit up differently.

But I would leave it for a while unless you're desperate to finish it and do something nice and calming!!!

Sorry the top hasn't worked out the way you wanted, it's a lovely pattern though. I agree with Debs re the invisible striping, I tend to use this with Colinette variegated yarns on garments and it does work quite well.

Another option might be to frog and reknit using a feather and fan type of pattern, or a slightly more zig-zag lace pattern. Those tend to break up the colours in a variegated/handpaint probably without having to do the striping.

You obviously aren't happy with it and if you carry on and finish it I get the impression you won't want to wear it - it would be a shame to frog the lot if it fits ok, so personally I'd pin it together to check fit and then decide whether to frog just the front and do the invisible stripe thing, or frog the lot, which would be a shame if it fits and you like it otherwise
