Yeah actually I agree with Cazzie, cos it's difficult to work out without seeing the knitting - if I was doing it myself I think I'd know, but reading instructions ... it's hard to picture.

I love DROPS patterns for the fact that they are so open to interpretation, I wonder if any two finished garments ever look the same?! |
There aren't any cables that cross, the first one is the wavy one across the bust area, M2 is the centre one and M3 is the top edge one
I shall e-mail Brigitte, she's been very helpful in the past hasn't she. _________________

just my two penneth here but I think you follow across the whole 3 charts across it's rows as set the m2 is repeated again before you get to the ends of m1 and m3....now I haven't really looked at the pattern but that's how i'd follow the charts...not really much help and i'm not sure that's what you we're asking anyway.... soz hun _________________

I don't understand!
Unless you mean that there are actually two of chart 2 to equal one of charts 1 and 3?
The problem is you work no charts on turn 1, then chart 1 and 2 on turn 2 and then charts 1,2 and 3 on turn 3 but what i don't know is if i keep the rows of the charts the same regardless which surely means that i'll be missing out rows of chart 3 as it is only worked on half of the turns...
i might need a lie down now _________________

ok i've had a quick read...I see (and feel) the frustration!!!! I got lost with the turns bit...i'm assuming as this sideways knit this knitting to marker1 and turning is for the yolk?...I think the confusing bit is that the charts are called m1 m2 m3 but I don't think it is reference to the charts....I'm going to have a really good look atthe pattern because it has got me intrigued now.
Thanks for that _________________

Franney...dunno if i'm helping or not but I think I've got it...your cable sts (worked over 30sts) should lie inbetween your markers 1 and 2 (I think)...when you turn your work - you will knit the 30 cable sts uninterupted, just complete the charts and turn your work...I think i'm going to knit this, that way we can help each other lol _________________

Well, only cables one and two are in between markers 1 and 2, the third cable is between markers 2 and 3 which is where my problem lies!
I've had no knitting time at all this weekend so it's gone back down the side of the sofa until i get some time to drag it out and growl at it frustratingly for a while
I think i will be following cable chart 3 and knitting it as i come to it and not at the same pace as charts 1 and 2 otherwise i'll be missing out rows and that doesn't make sense to me
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's sideways cable cardis though, we'll have to make sure we all wear them to Wroughton!
