I'm in a quandry already Confused
The pattern says 7mm needles, but its not a US size, so I only have circs in 6.5mm or 8mm......................... I'm thinking I might go with 8mmk so it's a little lacier and open, I'm not too sure though Rolling Eyes

I haven't had a lot of time to reply today.... sorry  Embarassed  I knitted a swatch on 7mm Brittany birch needles using aran yarn, and then chunky yarn. The aran tension was nowhere near using the 7mm needles, but the chunky was bang on stitch count wise. The row count was off by 1 row... so that'll do for me!

I ordered my 7mm circ and 7mm DPNs from Modern Knitting who had both in stock, so I saved myself double postage. I'll start on the Brittany birch needles and then switch as soon as the circ arrives.

I'll be knitting my Liesl in Sirdar Spree chunky which is a 60% cotton 40% acrylic mix yarn and I have it in *ahem* lots of different shades. So all I have to do is choose a shade and cast on! I think I'll either use indigo, or mocha mix which is beige and cream vareigated.

I cast on yesterday using 8mm........... I haven't swatched Embarassed  I'm thinking though that if I make the 34" at a nice open gauge, it'll fit around my expanding body ok. I can try on as I go anyway Very Happy
I've only managed the first row so far though Laughing

I thought today that if I knitted the 38" at a tighter gauge it would be okay too  Wink  Laughing  Laughing but I haven't got any 6.5mm circs or dpns either!!  Laughing  Laughing I'm going to make a start on it this afternoon after I've tidied up a bit... I've still got the remains of my stash-tidying lying around upstairs and I really need to get it sorted out and away.

My 7mm circ and dpns arrived this morning, so fab service from Modern Knitting.... however, I've had to frog the work I've done in this so far because I reckon it would have come out too small. I WAS doing the 34" but now I shall cast on again for the 38" finished measurement.

At least it's a quick and easy knit so frogging and rekniting isn't that much of a chore!  Razz

I'm down to the body now after separating for the sleeves. It is looking very open, but I like it Smile
