jo .....my skirts are made from the pattern in the  alabama stitch book........mine are all made from t shirts..cut into panel and they have draw string waists ,altho a friend of mine has made one with an elasticated waist. mine are all hand made cos i am rubbish on a sewing machine.

they are perfect for adapting to any pattern you like cos of the layers of t shirt fabric....so you can have a plain top layer and a bright bottom layer to match your knitted tops...............

the other thing is they are really good value cos the t shirts cost a couple of quid each so your skirt costs approx £8-10

i hope you find something you like........let us know...cos it is such fun to make clothes knowing no one else will have the same  thing as you

Jo did you do anything about making your own skirts?? I fancy doing some sort of sewing - maybe a bag or simple skirt or maybe patchwork cushion cover - as Twistfibre have some lovely Rowan fabrics in. (I wonder if the fabric is suitable for all these things tho?)

Embarassed I went to London in March Ali and bought some lovely fabric from Liberty's in Regent Street (such a beautiful shop).

Anyway, the fabric is still sitting in a bag along with the contrasting thread I bought waiting for the sewing mojo to strike Laughing  Embarassed

Oooooh!!!! What have you done about a pattern? I was looking at the Amy Butler Barcelona Skirt but this one looks easier and has an elasticated waist Wink

I made the Barcelona skirt over Easter but I am not happy with the way it turned out. It seemed far too wide around the bottom.  I intend to alter it but it is in the naughty corner at the moment.
