Looking round the shops today, there isnt much that grabs me clothes wise - I know what I want but cant find it !!

What I want is some nice bright knee length skirts rather like Carolinne's one here:

http://craftythreadsnyarns.myfreeforum.org/about11192.html

Something that will go with my knitted cardis which are mainly all plain and need jazzing up with a colourful bottom half if that makes sense Laughing

Anyway - I've got a sewing machine - its ancient and manual - but it works.  I'm not good at sewing and can only do basic straight up and down sewing - no zips or buttonholes!!

Does anyone know where/how I can buy/create a pattern for an A line type skirt with a drawstring, or even something a bit fuller?  Elasticated waists would probably be OK too Very Happy

TIA clever sewing people Very Happy

"I want a colourful bottom"  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

sorry !!

I have a feeling that the Burda site offers free downloads for simpler patterns and failing that John Lewis sell the simple Butterick ranges and Simpicity ranges of patterns that are usually a doddle to make.

Other than that, if you really want to sew something, I have my Henrietta cardie, chunky cotton cardie and some dolly clothes in pieces in the cupboard awaiting the sewing-up-elves??  Wink  Laughing

I often feel like sewing in the spring Very Happy Hope you find something Jo - those Libery skirts I made up last year would be ideal - what a shame they don't make that sort of thing anymore. I wonder if anyone else does tho??
