Today is my nephew's 21st birthday. He will be travelling to Christies this morning to start his second round of treatment. He should be doing all the things young people of his age do on their birthdays, not preparing for chemotherapy.  Never mind, we are saving celebrations for next year.

Mr A and I spent a lovely day with him yesterday.

Today I am having a a virtual coffee morning as a fundraiser for Race for Life.

There are prizes - 2 x £10 vouchers to spend at Socktopus one of Ambermoggie's Femmes and a skein of yarn from my tiny sock stash Wink

To enter, if you so wish, simply donate the price of a morning latte ( £2:00 is the minimum donation on Just Giving ) and omit the Gift Aid step ( sorry, is necessary for raffle purposes ) and you will be entered into the draw at 5:00 pm.

I am off to bed now - but the kettle is on, the coffee is perking and there is carrot cake Very Happy

And please don't anyone feel obliged - I am driven by the need to DO SOMETHING - it helps!

Good luck with the fundraising.

Wishing you and your family all the best.  It takes great courage to deal with life when something like this happens.  Hoping for the best possible outcome.

I haven't been able to find where to donate. Is it because I'm not signed up for Blogger do you think?

I'd just like to thank Joy for her hospitality this morning,  the coffee was excellent and the rate at which the carrot cake disappeared I guess that was good too.

Did absolutely nothing for my knitting ability but the company was worth the distractions.

Thank you Joy and hope it was worth while with sponsorship.
