hi there i am really enjoying being a forum member.

earlier jacquie mentioned a quilt i made based on a japanese path. well here it is. i made it for her 25th wedding anniversary. there is one paving slab for each year of her marriage and important events are marked by the use of silk. i did loads of research about the meanings of colours and months in japan, and used the research when choosing the colours for the paviers for the important dates.

it was great fun to make

Those quilts are both amazing! They must have taken ages. One day I'd like to have a go at quilting, but for the time being I'll stick to knitting, otherwise my stash will never diminish Very Happy

Hi Jacquie and Debs and Everyone: I'm happy to have found this new board, thank you, ladies. I was going to lurk quietly until I saw that Japanese Path quilt. Shocked

Now, carolinne, you've probably detailed it somewhere and I've jumped too soon without further research, but I am stunned by its creativity and beauty and and and, oh my. My curiosity has me stuttering!

carolinne's quilt was a gift to us for our 25th wedding anniversary last year. It is stunning and so full of meaning for us. I will get some close up shots so you can see how beautifully the words are embroidered on there Very Happy
