Oh I know what you mean Ali - a lot of my yarns are like that so I end up buying more yarn to actually knit stuff in

Crikey, £1 a ball for Jaeger? That's less than I pay for Hayfield Bonus. That truly is bargainous. I also have yarns that are treasure, waiting for the right project
I did the first pattern repeat on Twist last night, here's a quick progress pic. Sorry it's squished up - short needles - so I can only show you one of the two cable panels. And it's a darker brown than I've been able to capture ... lol, not the best photo all in all then! I'm liking how it looks IRL though

Ooooh lovely FC - the cables look gorgeous in the Cascade!! What a great colour!!!
In fact I have just ordered some as I had a birthday voucher for First4yarns and had been looking at the Cascade as a possibility. I'm thinking of using it for the Minimalist cardi tho. _________________ Ali xxx |

Cascade looks wonderful doesn't it? I was taking a squizz at some Cascade on GK website last night after spotting a pattern I quite fancy from Cosmicpluto - the Monday morning cardigan. Cascade seems very good value for money! I shall have to investigate further methinks _________________ Melody's blog

Did somebody call
I cast on Twist just before the weekend - started with a sleeve which I've nearly finished. Really like the cable pattern - found it very easy to memorise, which always makes for better knitting
I'm using Stylecraft Special in Charcoal - which is slightly heathery. And nice and squashy too. Definitely a colour for knitting with in good light though.

ah yes, that would have been me But I didn't name names in case you wanted to be a Billy no mates with your knitting and not join in I think I used the Charcoal for my Louisa sweater, it's very nice! I'm finding the cable pattern easy to memorise now too, and I'm managing it very nicely without a cable needle too
Ooh Ali, what colour Cascade have you ordered? And Debs, if you do decide to order from GK it might be worth calling them first to see what they've actually got in stock. I got mine from them. I wanted 6 skeins for this and the brown is actually my sixth colour choice because with my first five they didn't have six skeins either at all or in the same dyelot (My first choices were the blacks and dark greys and dark greens.) Mind you, they were very quick to come back to me about it, and even with lots of to-ing and fro-ing by email they still got my order out in a couple of days _________________

I have ordered Straw Heather (a sort of pale gold/camel shade) - I almost went for a chocolate brown _________________ Ali xxx |
