Well I think you are right too Franney.  I agree 100% with you and ProbablyJane.

Knit it if you want to Willow, but don't feel you HAVE to, and if it isn't finished in time, don't worry, you can promise the rest.
(before we were married I made DH an aran sweater, and gave it to him on Christmas day wrapped with an IOU for the second sleeve  Laughing )

I have been blessed with a very well behaved baby this week. He has woken less at night so i have been fully rested by morning time. He has then had at least one 2 hour nap during the day so i now only have 188 of the 250 rows left to do. I am enjoying alot more now that i have started to get used to the pattern repeat.

I think i may get this scarf finished. I really love the way it looks too, part of me wants to keep it lol as i fear the person who it is intended for won't appreciate it as much . I'm being silly though as i am sure she will.

I only have 80 rows to do but if i have more wool left and time i will carry on.

That's brilliant progress!!!  It sounds like you're enjoying making it now as well, so that's much better.

I'm doing a scarf with a 2 row repeat, and keep getting it wrong at the beginning of row 2  Shocked  but at least I know by the next stitch, and can correct it without frogging.  I do wish I'd started my Christmas knits a bit earlier though  Embarassed   This one is a bit boring, but I need to finish it before I decide if I'm going to make a hat to add to another gift.

Keep up the good work though - you're so nearly finished!!

Linda

Just wanted to say that i finished the scarf with 4 days to spare. I did 20 extra rows so 270 of pattern in all, i would have liked to have made it longer but didn't want to risk not finishing it. I really enjoyed it and am already looking at my stash to see if i have anything so that i can make myself one.

It went down very well too so i am happy.

Now off to write and start my thingmas knitting for next year. I will attempt to make two items lol.
