Would love to see, don't think the boys would be very pleased though.

What's it about? Want to take the girls to a nice family film over christmas. They're despeate to see Golden Compass but as it's supposed to be very anti-cristian, the author apparently wants to kill God, I'm not very keen to see it. Ness had to read the book in year 6 which I wasn't ahppy about but I've been told the film is really watered down compared to the book so trying to find something which may excite them even more to go and see in stead.

I've just reread Northern Lights and although part of the church is evil, it is not really recognisable as any church I am aware of. It helps that it is set in a paralell universe. To some extent it could be likened to the Catholic church before the reformation when terrible acts were carried out in God's name.

I really want to see Enchanted but my 14 year old daughter does not want to come with me so unless I can find anyone else to go with I'll need to wait until it comes out on DVD
