They are very pretty! I have never tried YY merino or merino tencel. I guess I'm only waiting for the right color to come along.

One of the yarns I auctioned for terri's run was merino tencel from n. How I ever parted with it in the post I shall never know! Shocked

I have some of the MT....its lovely and silky but I was worried about knitting it up into socks as about 4 of my pairs of pure merino socks have developed holes due to my crabby feet...ones with nylon in however seem to stand up alot more!! Smile So does the tencel act like a nylon and make the yarn stronger??? I can't bear the heartbreak of more handknit socks going to the back of the drawer until I've worked out how to darn!! Laughing I am booking my feet into scholl for a pamering and softening up! Smile

Mmm not sure about that Confused Natalie might know tho Cool

I know people HAVE used the MT for socks and it is comfy to wear, but I tend to think of it as a shawl/scarf yarn because it's so lovely next to the skin, and quite drapey IYKWIM.

Likewise the new wool/bamboo yarn is in theory a sock yarn and would be cooling to wear but it's definitely finer than my regular yarn, and is smoother so I'm suggesting it for scarves. I'm about to do a Hypoteneuse in it.
And it's got more yardage about 470m/100g so it stands to reason it will need smaller needles etc to be used as a sock yarn.

Glad you like them Pictish  Laughing

Nice yarns. Got some Yy merino and merinotencel but not knitted with hte merino yet and started a shawl in the MT but htink it might have to be frogged.  Confused  Not hte yarn's fault. Pattern not working out like I htought it would. It's nice to knit with. Also working on a scarf in NDS merino tencel and it's equally gorgeous. Got some Fyberspates MT too I think, or do I? Confused

I DO plan to make socks with the MT I think Wink
mogiebear

I've made socks with NDS MT and the seem to be wearing as well as any others and feel lovely on.

That's good to hear!!

I've still got the MT that I won in one of the auctions last year but can't bear to knit with it as it's just to lush and squishy in the skein!   I have come close to knitting it....... will try to pluck up the courage sometime this year.  MT is such a lovely combination.

I love your colours Pictish.  Very edibile indeed!!
KnittingLadybird

I have a skien of the YY MT...it's uber soft and destined to be socks too. It's hard to pluck up the courage and wind it into a ball Shocked
