Can I ask just how you transfer a blog from blogger to wordpress? Do you just copy your template and then paste it in?????
It does look neat and tidy (but i'm always playing around with pictures and stuff )

It was really easy.
When you select your template, you can opt to import your posts from Blogger, which is what I did and so got all my old posts, without having to retype anything.
The templates are great to as you can change them and they don't lose anything. So much easier to use.
Would really recommend it!

Go to My Dashboard, and you should have headings like Dashboard, write, manage etc along the top
Click on Presentation, that then opens themes, where you can select your theme.
Go to the Manage section then Import to import your posts from blogger.
Hope that helps.
It took me about 2hrs to set up, but I keep tweaking it!

Isn't that clever..... Tell you what it's probably worth doing so you have a blog backup regardless of which one you continue to use! I love to read back over my blog and see what I was doing at this time last year so I'd be devastated if I lost it. Thanks for the info Sharon!

I do like the look of the wordpress blogs.
I would worry though that I would lose everything, how does it transfer it all across? Also how would you let people know you had moved or would you disapear!!!!
I like blogger as it is easy to use, is wordpress even easier for a numpty like me?!!

The only reason I thought I'd try is because I like to print off my blog for my grandma (who at 86 doesn't really need to learn the intricacies of the internet!) and you can't export/slurp comments from blogger so the posts can be printed but if you want the whole shebang you need to open each post and cut and paste it... takes forever. I had heard that wordpress was different (though i'm still having a bit of grief at the moment.) I don't know that I like it better, I think i've got so used to blogger and there's nothing much about it that bugs me. but it has an import wizard and your blogger one remains intact so if you don't like it you just delete and go back to your old one. As for letting people know, you could just post a post on blogger to say you've moved.
Ali, you are signing in with your username and not email aren't you?

I had screwed up the password bit!!! Maybe there was a limit or something and I overshot but have the email now and off I go

I'm in now and it looks a lot more sophisticated than blogger - but the only downside seems to be it only lets you upload images from a hosting site not direct from your computer - as far as I can see that is
