Which posts are new or unread? When I logged in this morning, there were no orange envelopes to tell me which posts I hadn't read. Does anyone else have this problem?

I always just click on 'New posts since last visit' in top RH corner That is working fine for me.

Can I also ask what are all those ads on my post/ I find them distracting even annoying

They are only on the last post in the thread so they should be with my post now

Jeanette - the ads help to pay for the free forum service, so I for one don't mind putting up with them although they were a tad annoying at first I hardly notice them now.

Thanks Piglottie, I realise that ads are an inevitable part of any forum but the reason I asked about them being in the post is because any forums I go on always have them at the top of the page and not in the members posts.
I read on another knitting site that for any forum to benefit from any revenue the ads have to be clicked on? Not sure if that is correct?
I am just wary of clicking on certain ads because of the expense I had to go to the last time I clicked on what was a seemingly innocent ad. and what I got infected my whole system and rendered my PC unusable.
All because I clicked on an ad for gardening

As a point of interest, when I posted this one of the ads on the post is for nude photos??.

I have reported the nude photos one to the support forum and they replied very quickly. They can bar really bad stuff, but we just need to wait for the targeting to settle down.
Apart from one or two I think they are pretty well targetted - lots for yarn and other craft supplies and in the topic about Debs' poor dog there are doggie ones.
