Waiting...

My wheel hasn't arrived yet. It was dispatched from Germany on Tuesday and I hoped it would arrive on Friday, but I was too optimistic. Two days is the time stated on post web page, but in reality it might be two weeks.

I'm happy I didn't wait until the beginning of Octomber to order. This takes longer time than I thought. First, my EU-payment took whole 6 working days to show on shop owner's account (timescale is 2 - 6 working days). Luckily she has Sonatas in stock so she didn't have to order from manufacturer. It was Tuesday, and she sent the wheel right away, but I'm starting to be impatient. My wheel isn't moving anywhere during the weekend.

I hope I'll get the wheel by next weekend. In the meantime, I'll finish the roving I'm spinning on my Sublime Spindle.

I had planned to spend this weekend with my wheel, so I had to do other spindly things. Like get two years subscription for SpinOff-magazine. And order Spin to Knit. With another knitting book called KnitKnit. I haven't seen any project pictures and it sounds artistic, so it might be really good or really bad purchase. I wanted to get it because of Anna Bell pattern. I like her patterns a lot and I'm waiting eagerly for her book.

I've had one ball of Jaeger Pure Silk DK in my stash for a long time. It was a mistake purchase. The yarn was truly lovely but the price tag was missing. I didn't know that a single 50g ball would cost awful 16 euros (11 £) before sales person charged my card and it was too late to change my mind. 50g isn't enough for a real project and I will never pay that much for yarn again. It stares from bookshelf and I get bad conscience.
Now I've decided I'll knit a little bag for my Sublime Spindle with silk. Luxurious for luxurious.

I think a silk bag will be just perfect.
Hope your wheel gets here soon. Maybe we should have a competition, I am waiting for my new one too.

I've meant to ask you but always forgot: do you have to pay customs for Suzie? I've understood dealers drop ship Majacraft wheels straight from NZ and most dealers never see the wheel they've sold. Will you be responsible for customs or the dealer?

(As you see, I have very healthy attitude. Sonata is my first wheel. Upgrading is always a possibility. After few years.)
n

I didn't know they shipped direct.
Mine is coming to Twistfibrecraft first and then Peter will assemble it. I could do it but he offered and unlike the Kiwi, the wood is already oiled/waxed/sealed so I don't have any finishing to do.
He's setting it up left handed for me too, although I'm right handed, I spin the other way around for some reason.
So the shop will pay the duty and it's all included in the price.

PS Nice attitude. Laughing

me too!!!.... I must admit if I take to the spinning and increase what I'm doing then if/when I upgrade I have to admit the Majacraft are the wheels I have my eye on ;o) I will be interested to see what you think n when you've been spinning awhile with it.....

Any news on Suzie?

I'm getting impatient.. I should start writing my thesis on Octomber and I'd like to have some time with wheel while I have free time.

But at least I'll have healthy fiber stash prepared for the wheel's arrival.
n

I picked her up yesterday.
She is BEEEEEYOUTIFULLLL.
Sadly I have to dye yarn today and tomorrow so it will be the weekend before I have time to play with her.
I'll take pics when I have time.

looking forward to photos of her, have you named her? I don't seem to have a name for my Ashford TRaveller.....

Hanne has your wheel arrived yet?
Hanne

No. I've been in touch with the seller, who is very helpful, and she called straight to German post office when I told her the wheel hasn't arrived yet. The post office person said that it takes 7 working days to Finland, so it should arrive today (which didn't happen) or tomorrow (which isn't going to happen either, because post is closed on Saturdays and Sundays). So I hope it will arrive on Monday.

Our mailman has been sick, I think, and the post has arrived around 4 o'clock afternoon at latest, when usually we should get it before noon.

So I'm not too optimistic on Monday either.

I have called my Traveller 'Myrtle' from the character Myrtyle May in my favourite film 'Harvey'

She was a gal who knew her own mine and went for what se wanted - and got it too : _

So, how's Suzie? Is she as gorgeous as she looks?
