VLT Torchons & Lace (Updated)I just started the Torchons and Lace Wrap from VLT using some Cherry Tree Hill Merino Lace yarn in Pracock. It is gorgeous to knit with and the pattern looks really striking.

Looks amazing! I bought a skein of that yarn at Ally Pally.

Oh, it's looking wonderful! I'm glad it's getting good reviews as i have a skein in "Martha's Vineyard" that i bought at Ally Pally (before Noo got hers, she copied me, honest )
I just have to work out how to get it from the skein into a ball... my poor winder won't hold a mile and a half of yarn i don't think!!

Franney,
I was a bit worried that my winder would have a problem and it was a tight squeeze but I did wind it all in one hit.

That looks gorgeous. That's the next shawl from VLT that I want to do......in about 5 years time when Ican find the time.
A bit of gossip here, I had a very excited e-mail from Joyce who run Spin A Yanr in Bovey Tracey in Devon a few days ago. She'd had a visit from Jane Sowerby (the author of VLT) in her shop. It took a while before Joyce knew who it was but she said she was a lovely lady and she was so excited to meet her. I wish I'd been there . VLT is a truly amazing book. She must have put in so much research to put all the patterns together. And it's the book that got me into lace seriously and made me attempt and succeed at my first knitted on border.
Gorgeous yarn too. I got some Merino Lace from CTH from GK September last year adn started winding it by hand with the skein hanging over th eback of a chair. Afte a week I gave up. The skein is so huge.
